Look Ma - No Hands!

Song Lyric of the Week Answer

This week’s lyric was posted while we were packing, as many are, to travel “over the river and through the woods” for the Christmas holiday.

Truckin, Im a goin home.
whoa whoa baby, back where I belong,
Back home, sit down and patch my bones,
and get back truckin on.

The Grateful Dead’s Truckin’ hits the some of the troubles that the band experienced while on the road used them as a metaphor for getting through life. No matter what’s happening around (and to) them, they just keep on truckin’ along, doing what they do best – making music and making people happy.

We’re scheduled to be truckin’ ourselves today, so I wrote most of this entry yesterday and posted it a little early – before I even knew if we have any winners; I’ll check and post again when I get to another network port.

Announced while I was putting this together were the lifetime achievements to be presented at the Grammy Awards coming up in February. The Grateful Dead will be honored, along with other artists, as “influential … creators of the most renowned and prominent recordings in the world.” That’s pretty cool.
